Built in southern Brazil using traditional methods and the finest tropical hardwoods, Peacemaker first launched as the Avany in 1989. In 2000, it was bought by the Twelve Tribes, a religious group with about 50 communities in North and South America, Europe, and Australia. Over the next seven years, they replaced all of the ship’s mechanical and electrical systems and rigged it as a barquentine. In 2007 she set sail as Peacemaker with the mission of bringing people into peace with one another and the World. She travels from port to port providing apprenticeship program and tours.
