As Chicagoans we are luckily doused with tons of awesome summer festivals. We enjoy music, food and art festivals, however, no festival quite compares to the most heart-stopping, breath-taking, exhilarating Chicago festival of all: The Chicago Air and Water Show!
On August 17th and 18th, Chicago’s North Avenue Beach will transform into a thrilling spectacular you do not want to miss! The Chicago Air and Water Show, a FREE two-day event that draws over 2 million spectators to the lakefront, is the largest free Air and Water Show in the United States.
Goose bumps are guaranteed as you lay back and observe acrobatics in the air and daredevils in the lake. All stunts are done over the water with safety holding top priority. As you relax on the beach you will awed by top civilian and military pilots, state of the art aircraft, boats, and diving teams winding, weaving and dropping over the fabulous Lake Michigan.
Interested in the history and details of the show? No problem. Herb Hunter, who has been known as the “Voice of the Show” for over 20 years will keep you informed and entertained the whole time as he narrates each dip and dive.
Some performers that will keep you on the edge of your seat (or blanket) include:
