“O Romeo, Romeo! Wherefore art thou Romeo?” Does this famous line sound familiar to you? Does Shakespeare ring a bell? That line was from Shakespeare’s famous play, “Romeo and Juliet”. Explore another one of Shakespeare’s masterful works right here at Navy Pier’s Chicago Shakespeare Theater.
The Taming of the Shrew
The Taming of the Shrew, is being brought to you by Shakespeare, adapted and directed by Rachel Rockwell. This show is perfect for all ages. The Taming of the Shrew is a love story were two people are taken by surprise and fall in love against their own wills. It will not be that easy for them as leading characters Kate and Petruchio will fight, even though they eventually find their way into each other’s hearts.
While this is a ultimately a love story, it’s a rather comical one that’s sure to entertain! This Shakespeare stage play will have you laughing with its slapstick comedy. It will be a battle of gender roles, power and money: a true battle of the sexes. This is one you do not want to miss out on. That’s not it, though, as after the show you can meet cast members for discussion and photo opportunities! Yes, this stage play will be that great!
Hope to see you there!
