CrossFit Regional Competition

May 29, 2013

CrossFit is headed to Chicago, May 31- June 2, and we’re ready to be inspired!

What is CrossFit, you may ask? It’s a specialized fitness regimen combining bodybuilding with high cardio exercises developed by Coach Greg Glassman, a former gymnastics coach and police officer trainer. The workout has flourished in popularity since its introduction and inspired a community of individuals to come together and train using the CrossFit method.

Today, CrossFit provides accredited training seminars throughout the world and has created the Sport of Fitness, known as the CrossFit Games, where the Fittest Man and Woman on Earth are crowned. The CrossFit Games season has three stages: the five-week Open challenge, the Regional competitions, and the Games, which pit 100 of the best athletes against each other. This year, Navy Pier will be the host of the 2013 North Central CrossFit Regional Competition!

The fittest athletes in the North Central area will come to Chicago and head to the 65,000 square foot Navy Pier exhibit hall space to prove their strength, determination, and endurance beginning on May 31! After the three-day competition, the best athletes will move onto the Reebok CrossFit Games in Carson, California!

Tickets to the North Central Regional Competition are on sale now! Pay $15 for one-day admission or save when you buy a three-day competition pass for only pay $40!

If you’re headed to Navy Pier for the CrossFit Regional, make sure you spend some time outside of the gym enjoying some of our great attractions like our world famous Ferris wheel and all of our amazing restaurants. Plus, the Pier makes a really breathtaking spot for your morning run!

We can’t wait to host all of the incredible CrossFit athletes this weekend! Whether you win or lose, you’re still champions in our eyes and are guaranteed to have a wonderful time at the Pier!
