Winter break will be here before we know it. How do you keep the kids from getting restless on those endless December and January days spent stuck inside? Here at Navy Pier, we have plenty of family-friendly activities going on all season long that will keep not only the kids, but you entertained and in good spirits!
Starting December 6, one of Chicago’s favorite winter events returns to the Pier for another fun-filled season. You guessed it—it’s Winter WonderFest at Navy Pier presented by Bank of America! From Dec. 6 through Jan. 12, you and the whole family can come take part in this beloved seasonal spectacle, featuring attractions like the Chicago Blackhawks indoor ice skating rink, giant inflatable slides, amusement rides, festive holiday decorations, live entertainment, and more! A veritable 170,000-square-foot indoor winter playground, Winter WonderFest is packed wall to wall with spectacular activities and attractions, so you can be sure there is something for every member of your family to enjoy.
Entry to Winter WonderFest itself is free, as is parking with the purchase of four full-price activity wristbands at the box office. Find additional details on attractions, wristband rates, group discounts, and more at the Winter WonderFest website!
That’s not all we have in store this season! While you’re checking out Winter WonderFest, stop by Navy Pier’s Family Pavilion for Snowglobe Live! Who hasn’t ever shaken up a snow globe, stared at the swirling snowflakes within, and pondered what it would be like to be inside that shimmering winter wonderland? Well now with Snowglobe Live! at Navy Pier, you can finally find out! Now through January 12, 2013, we invite you to step inside this 15-foot-tall, human-sized snow globe and experience the magic for yourself. There’s room for six inside, so bring the whole family in to play, pose, and snap a photo you can take home as a souvenir of this amazing experience!
Find details and photography times on our Special Events webpage.
It wouldn’t be the Christmas season without a visit to see Santa Claus. Instead of standing in line at the mall, come down to Navy Pier this December and tell Santa what you want for Christmas while sailing along on the Spirit of Chicago! Our Spirit of Chicago Santa Lunch Cruise takes place December 14 and 15, 2013 and has something for both you and the kids to enjoy. While the little ones are reveling in the presence of the jolly man himself, you can take in incredible views of the Chicago skyline, buffet dining, and friendly service, all in the climate-controlled atmosphere of the Spirit of Chicago’s comfortable decks. Your kids will have a blast, and so will you!
The December 14 cruise is already sold out, so get your tickets for the December 15 date now while you still can! Book online at the Spirit of Chicago website.
Santa will also be inside Winter WonderFest this year from December 6 through 24, 2013 at the foot of the giant decorated tree to hear the wishes of little boys and girls.
With so much to do at Navy Pier this season, winter break is looking brighter than ever! The holidays are about spending quality time with loved ones, so make it a year to remember by bringing the family to the Pier.
