At Navy Pier, there is so much more to do than boat rides and the Ferris wheel. Which are both amazing and lots of fun, but if you’re looking for fun and free things to do at Navy Pier, then look to Lake Michigan. Yep, that big beautiful body of water waits with loads of fun for everyone!
We’re talking about fishing Chicago, of course! Come to the Pier early, watch the sun rise and cast your lines into Lake Michigan in hope of catching some of Chicago’s biggest perch, salmon, bass and trout!
Those looking to fish may do so along Navy Pier’s Southwest wall and the always popular North Dock area.
Between the hours of 5 a.m. and 10 a.m., anyone with a valid fishing license who shows it to Navy Pier’s Standard Parking garage office may receive parking validated for only $5. Cars must be out of the garage by 10 a.m. in order to receive the discount.
Don’t worry if you don’t pull in the biggest fish either, you can always come back tomorrow and try your luck again!
