Goose Island Beer Dinner at Harry Caray’s Tavern

Goose Island Beer Dinner at Harry Caray’s Tavern

February 18, 2013

Harry Caray’s fans, listen up! Everybody’s favorite Chicago sports tavern has something special in store for you! This Thursday, February 21, Chicago’s own Goose Island Beer Company and Harry Caray’s Tavern will present A Perfect Pairing – an exclusive six-course beer dinner featuring limited release beers from Goose Island’s barrel-aged program.

One look at the beers and you’ll know this isn’t a night to be missed! Guests will have the chance to sample Goose Island’s finest brews, including Bourbon County Brand Stout, Coffee Stout, a heavy beer that’s made for evenings in front of the fire, and the light and sweet Vanilla Stout, as well as Juliet, Lolita, and Madame Rose Vintage Ales, all with complex and surprisingly fruity flavors. And because we’re not all beer connoisseurs, Goose Island’s Brewmaster, Brett Porter, will be on hand for a little beer education!

The beers alone are amazing, but then you throw in a five-course dinner created by Harry Caray’s Executive Chef, Joe Rosetti, and we’re really cooking! Harry Caray’s fabulous staff will serve up a one-of-a-kind pairing menu, starting off with Matilda alongside delicious passed hors d’ouevres of Wing Lollypops with a maple garlic glaze and Candied Bacon served on an apple watercress spoon. Next up will be a Foie Maple Parfait with rose jelly and bourbon cherry mostarda served alongside a 2012 Madame Rose.

Third course will consist of mouth-watering Berkshire Pork Belly with fuji apple butter, yukon potato puree, and parsnip chips with a 2012 Lolita. We’re not done yet! Course #4 will include Venison Sausage with peppercress, blackberry jam, pistachio, and tuscan kale—believe us, it works, especially with a 2012 Juliet! For the final course, a 2012 Bourbon County Brand Stout will accompany a 35 Day Aged Veal Chop with a bourbon coffee demi-glace, chanterelles, and braised rapini.

Still have room for dessert? Harry Caray’s is serving up two! Drunken Doughnut Holes come with chocolate fondue and a 2010 Bourbon County Brand Vanilla Stout and the Espresso Pot de Crème comes with a 2012 Bourbon Country Brand Coffee Stout.

Have you bought your tickets yet? Chances are they’re completely sold out, but who knows, maybe you’ll be able to snag the final pair! Go here to see if there are any left!
