The Chicago Flower & Garden Show, presented by Mariano’s will be putting the “petal to the metal” on its opening day – Saturday, March 15 – as host to the North Central Chapter of the American Institute of Floral Designers (AIFD) Bobbi Cup competition. Held in honor of Chicago’s own Bobbi Ecker-Blatchford, this annual live design competition is fast-paced and fascinating!
The competition is open to members of AIFD’s North Central Chapter and spotlights the talents of some of the finest floral designers in the industry. Six designers will be selected by lottery at 2 p.m. and the design competition will begin on the show’s main stage at 4 p.m. with this year’s Bobbi Cup winner announced at 5:15 p.m. Stop by to cheer them on and see these amazing designers at work.
You can also admire the talents of 12 AIFD designers throughout the run of the show in their whimsical, magical “The Art of Floral: Designs Reclaimed” exhibit. Enjoy a variety of fabulous floral concepts and decorating accents, each built to express individual style and inspire creativity.
