Are you a hardcore runner who loves battling the elements and is constantly in pursuit of that next personal best?
Or are you a more casual athlete who enjoys the physical challenge of running and completing a race?
Or are you the type of person who likes to run, but haven’t taken the race plunge yet?
If you fit into any of the above categories and have been looking for a new, or first, race to try, then you’re in luck! This Saturday, November 10, is the second annual Chicago’s Perfect 10 Race at Navy Pier and today is the absolute last day to register!
So what’s the race all about? Chicago’s Perfect 10 gives locals and out-of-towners the chance to get out there and be fit while seeing the city in a completely different way.
Runners have the option of running in the 10K (6.2 miles) or the 10 Mile race. Both races start and finish on a quarter mile stretch of Navy Pier’s Dock Street with stunning lake and skyline views and are full of beautiful city sights along the way as runners travel down the lakefront path. You’ll definitely wish you could run with a camera! The course is one-of-a-kind and will make any future morning jog pale in comparison!
Plus, this year a Kid’s Run has been added as a way to get the whole family involved! Gather up your energetic grade schoolers and set them loose in the Bubba Gump’s Kid’s Fun Run! Kids will have the chance to take on a quarter mile of the South Dock in two heats (grades K-2 at 10 a.m. and grades 3-7 at 10:30 a.m.) and every runner will receive a special long-sleeved shirt and a surprise gift!
And of course adult runners won’t walk away empty-ended. All finishers get a medal and long-sleeved commemorative shirt and are invited to stick around after the race for food and refreshments!
Sound like a race you’d be interested in? Sign up quickly! Spots are going fast and registration closes just before midnight tonight!
