Leave it to Ludwig | CST

It can be hard to introduce your children to the theater. The plays out there are either too adult or too long or not stimulating enough to keep your child’s attention for more than an hour (or if we’re being really honest, five minutes).

You want your children to learn to appreciate art, but this can be difficult when it’s not made with them in mind.

As you may have guessed, this is where Chicago Shakespeare Theater swoops in to the rescue. Their latest play, Leave it to Ludwig, was designed just for the little ones.

With just four performances—two on Saturday, January 19 and two on Sunday, January 20—at the kid-friendly hours of 10 a.m. and 11:30 a.m., you’ll need to buy your tickets fast to get in on all the fun.

This hour-long concert, featuring performers from The Chicago Chamber Musicians, tells the story of a young pianist struggling to play the works of Beethoven. As he labors over the music, Ludwig van Beethoven himself magically appears to help the young musician master the music.

Leave it to Ludwig is perfect for children ages four and up and we guarantee that adults will love it too as they’re regaled with the familiar and very beautiful sounds of Beethoven’s masterful work.

And between concerts on each day, audience members will have a chance to meet the performers! Interactive exhibits set up in the lobby will give children the chance to explore the instruments used in the concert and the musicians will be on hand to sign autographs, take pictures, and answer questions.

Tickets are available here. Make sure you get yours today to this very special performance!
