Here at the Pier we like the heat and sunshine (of course) because it makes our gorgeous lakefront location the place to be; who wouldn’t want to spend a day mini golfing and Ferris wheel riding at Pier Park?!
We enjoy the long days that give us even more time to take in the drinks and the sights from our restaurants’ patios.
And we love the summer blockbusters that open up at Navy Pier IMAX and keep us entertained all season long!
This summer’s movie lineup has gotten off to an amazing start. We’ve been treated to the cool butt-kicking moves of Robert Downey Jr. in Iron Man 3 and the highly anticipated sci-fi flick, Star Trek Into Darkness. And just when you thought summer couldn’t get any more awesome, Man of Steel hits the legendary 6-story Navy Pier IMAX screen starting June 14!
In this brand new Superman remake, a young Clark Kent, played by Henry Cavill, must face the truth he’s known since boyhood—that he isn’t of this world—and use his superpowers to defend the people and world he loves against invaders from his own native planet, Krypton.
Expect to see many familiar names, like Daily Planet journalist, Louis Lane (played by Amy Adams) and Martha and Jonathan Kent (played by Diane Lane and Kevin Costner). The movie even delves a little deeper into Superman’s origins this time around by featuring Superman’s birth mother and father, as well as two villains from Krypton, General Zod and his evil partner, Faora.
This is definitely one movie you won’t want to miss this summer so make sure you buy your tickets! You can join us up in the front row!
