NSHP Bilingual Job Fair | Navy Pier

March 11, 2013

Being bilingual is a gift, and in the workforce it’s definitely an advantage. But after working hard to perfect a second language, why does it seem so difficult to find a job that desires these skills? Where in the world are the businesses that need bilingual employees?

On Thursday, March 14, Navy Pier will help you find them. The National Society for Hispanic Professionals (NSHP) will be hosting a Bilingual Job Fair in the Lakeview Terrace here at Navy Pier from 10 a.m. to 3 p.m. With over 21,000 members, NSHP is the top US networking association for Hispanic professionals. It’s free to join and its mission is to connect individuals with common interests, or in this case, employers with potential employees.

The NSHP Chicago Bilingual Professional Job Fair provides the perfect opportunity for bilingual individuals, as well as others who are looking to join the work force, to make connections with each other and companies attending the fair. Some of the day’s participating employers include Blue Cross Blue Shield of Michigan, BP, Greeley and Hansen, Fifth Third Bank, Kellogg’s Company, New York Life, National Geospatial Intelligence Agency, Rush University Medical Center, TSA and Walgreens, and more!

If you’re thinking about attending the job fair, make sure you’re dressed to impress (think business suit) and bring along plenty of résumés because some employers may be hosting on site interviews and as we all know, first impressions are everything.

We hope you all enjoy the job fair and best of luck! Stop by one of our fabulous restaurants for lunch or that celebratory drink after you nail your first big interview!
