We know it’s a challenge to keep your kids stimulated in today’s world of 10-second attention spans and screens galore. That’s why we have a solution at hand for you: Bring your kids to the Chicago Children’s Museum! Spending your day at the museum can be enriching, educational, entertaining—and just downright fun!
What is there to do at the Chicago Children’s Museum right now? Check out our current exhibits and experiences!
New to the Museum this month, Air Fair lets your littles experience the wonders of wind power! Perfect for the wee Orville or Wilbur Wright in your life, this exhibit is filled with planes, rockets, and aircrafts of all kinds. Plus, experiment with wind tunnels, air cannons, and even a Wall O’ Fans—you’re sure to be blown away! Special programs such as Stomp Rockets, the Launchinator, and Art and Air will be happening all month long; find more details on the website.
Is fort-building your child’s forte? Bring your mini architect-in-the-making to our Forts exhibit, open through April 20! Blankets, tables, headboards, and more will be on hand and at the mercy of your child’s imagination as they construct their own handmade havens. Plus, we have costumes and props aplenty to complete the transformation to astronaut, princess, or whatever character inhabits their new dream digs.
Kraft Artabounds Studio
Maybe you’ve got a pint-sized Picasso at home? Well “art” is our middle name. Getting a little messy is no concern at the Kraft Artabounds Studio! We have all the materials available to help your child’s inner artist (and maybe yours too) run wild!
Leave the screens at home; the Tinkering Lab gives you the opportunity to get innovative and creative in a hands-on way! Touch, tinker, and test out real tools and materials in this DIY dream space designed for the whole family.
Other Chicago Children’s Museum exhibits include WaterWays, for the small sailor in your home, which lets children splash, squirt, and slosh in an aquatic playground; Dinosaur Expedition, for the peewee paleontologist, which lets kids dig for and discover fossils; and Treehouse Trails, where your tiny tree hugger can camp, crawl, and explore an enchanted forest setting. And that’s just the tip of the iceberg when it comes to all the awesome exhibits and experiences available at Chicago Children’s Museum!
Entrance is free for members and $14 for non-members. The Museum is open Friday through Wednesday, 10 a.m. to 5 p.m., and 10 a.m. to 8 p.m. on Thursday. Visit the website for details on hours, admission, and our special free entry events.
