The wait is finally over – The Tall Ships have arrived in Chicago! Navy Pier excitedly welcomes an amazing international fleet of 14 vessels for Tall Ships Chicago. During this historic 5-day festival guests are welcome to walk to grounds, board the ships and sail out to sea on one or more of our majestic vessels.
The festival kicks off today at 8 a.m. and there are a few different ways to enter the event:

The Parade of Sail, which will display each Tall Ship sailing along Navy Pier, starts at 2 pm today! Ships will leave from Northerly Island and continue north to North Ave before turning back to Navy Pier. Following the Parade will be the Opening Ceremonies at Navy Pier’s East End Plaza from 2 pm – 2:30 p.m. Explore the festival for the rest of the day and stick around for Navy Pier Fireworks at 9:30 pm!
Throughout the festival Dockside Boarding and Sail Away cruises continue all through the day and the Grand Ballroom is open to view Chicago’s maritime past plus nautical activities for kids. Check all the schedules here.
For the first time, the Chicago Match Cup will be joining Tall Ships Chicago this week. This is a modern match, professional sailing competition and will be taking place in Lake Michigan. The first qualification round-robin round will be Wednesday from 12 pm – 2 pm and the tournament will continue Thursday – Saturday 10 am – 5 pm. The finals and awards ceremony will take place Sunday 1 pm – 3 pm. All General Admission and Dockside Boarding Admission include the Chicago Match Cup. Looking for an amazing view of the tournament?
