Being an intern at Navy Pier for the summer is a great experience. I work with 3 other ladies named Karina, Brittany and Helen. We are from all different parts of Illinois (from the Northwest Suburbs to the South Suburbs) and range in age from 20-22.

We have gained hands on experience this summer working on several projects. These projects include: “Passport to Navy Pier” where we contacted tenants to participate in Pier-wide promotions, Concierge Preferred Events, the Printer’s Row book fair, ticket promotions for Cirque Shanghai, the “Stay Longer on the Longest Day” promotion and many more. We have been helpful in bringing new ideas to the table and giving input when needed.
We have gotten an opportunity to see how a live commercial is put together, see a video shoot and have been in tapings for voice overs. A great thing that we have experienced was being able to meet and greet many Chicago business people such as the Owner of Six Flags Great America, Governor Pat Quinn, and several Chicago news reporters. We have also seen some cool things like the Tumbler from The Dark Knight and the L.L. Bean Boot mobile.

We will continue to be a big help to Navy Pier for the remainder of the summer and you will continue to hear more about our journey and the life of being a Navy Pier Intern.
