Woody’s Winter Warm-Up | Harry Caray’s Tavern

January 4, 2013

You’ve probably heard that old saying, cold hands, warm heart.

Well, at the Pier, you’ll find warm hands AND warm hearts, especially at the Wood Family Foundation’s second winter charity event at Harry Caray’s Tavern on January 18!

In June 2011, former Chicago Cubs pitcher and 13-year MLB veteran, Kerry Wood, and his wife, Sarah, founded the Wood Family Foundation, a non-profit organization that serves as an advocate for Chicagoland children by raising awareness and funds for children’s charities and programs.

The Wood Family Foundation has already successfully aided in the creation of a new playroom at the Ann & Robert H. Lurie Children’s Hospital of Chicago for children undergoing treatment for cancer, has held several successful back to school drives, has sponsored a summer baseball camp for underprivileged youth, and just finished up a toy and coat drive benefiting CPS students.

And now it’s time for Woody’s Winter Warm-Up!

This fabulous evening at Harry Caray’s Tavern at Navy Pier features VIP guests, delicious food and drinks, and a silent auction! Guests will be treated to the great bar service of Kerry Wood, other former and current Cubs players, and local celebrities as they mix up drinks and compete for tips to benefit the Wood Family Foundation.

Bring your appetite, your checkbook, and a camera as you mix and mingle with Cubs players, outbid other guests on fabulous silent auction items, submit your ticket to the raffle, and indulge in a premium open bar and dinner buffet.

A limited number of tickets are being sold for $150. For more information, visit here.

If you don’t manage to snag a ticket, but would still like to assist the Wood Family Foundation, your donations are welcome!  Go here to learn more about how you can help!
