With decades worth of headlining Roots and Celtic festivals to selling out nights at rock venues The Town Pants’ own brand of Celtic roots rock rebel spans five albums so far, backed up with a legendary live show that’s garnered them fans internationally from New York to Norway.  While The Pacific Northwest may not be the first place you would expect to hear rollicking Celtic roots music, The Town Pants are determined to change that. The Vancouver,Canada based band combines aspects of Irish traditional, folk rock and roots Americana, fusing their signature dual lead vocals to create their own unique brand of high energy “West Coast Celtic.” that remains in the heart and head long after the music stops. There are lots of Celtic folk rock bands out there, but rarely does a band has this combination of passion, energy, animation and spirit that makes for some of the most imaginative songwriting you’ll find in the genre.

Rolling through the “Decade of Decadence” like a 50-ton freight train, iconic bands such as Guns N’ Roses, Mötley Crüe, Bon Jovi, and Poison (to mention only a few) made the 1980’s a musical era the likes of which we’re doubtful to see again. Millions upon millions of records were sold, and concert venues around the world sold out within seconds when these bands were announced as headliners…

In 2001, lamenting the heyday of hairbands, one Chicago band sought to rekindle the flame for these Gods of Rock by tapping into the nostalgic and undeniable energy of that bygone era. They called themselves Hairbanger’s Ball.

Born from a “what if?” scenario, Hairbanger’s Ball has entrenched themselves as one of the most sought after “80’s Hair Rock Tribute Bands” in the United States after years of performing sold out shows from coast to coast, all while exuding the same expert musicianship and flair for the theatrical as their idols. Now on the cusp of celebrating 15 years in existence, Hairbanger’s Ball has been a mainstay in music for longer than some of their celebrity counterparts, and routinely perform over 150 shows a year.

Whether you’re looking to bring back the memory of a favorite concert seen in 1985 or seeking a true-to-life representation of what a rock concert was like in the 80’s, Hairbanger’s Ball provides both the music and the mayhem for young and old alike, bundled together in a 6-piece, high octane lineup. Featuring powerful male and female lead vocals, some serious ax grinding and renditions of classic songs so much like the original you’d swear you’d gone back in time, Hairbanger’s Ball leaves nothing to be desired after seeing and listening to them live, which is why they’ve been named “Best Rock Band” in Chicago by their throngs of adoring fans.

Hey Monea

For brothers Dan and Nate Monea, their time is meant to be spent doing what they love – writing, recording and performing music. “Even though Nate was just 13 and I was 16 when we played our first show, I knew music would be our life”, says Dan. That passion was affirmed in 2012, when this childhood trio from Cleveland, Ohio were selected to open for Bruce Springsteen to perform in front of 60,000 fans during Hard Rock Calling’s summer music festival in London’s Hyde Park. The band secured this opportunity by winning Hard Rock’s worldwide battle of the bands, besting over 12,000 other bands from around the world.

Since then, Hey Monea has shared the stage with many of their musical heroes: ranging from the Bare Naked Ladies and the Goo Goo Dolls to the Doobie Brothers, Lady Antebellum, and Kid Rock. These influences resonate deeply in their music and was captured efficiently by legendary Grammy winning producer Dennis Herring (Counting Crows, Elvis Costello, Modest Mouse) on the bands’ major label debut, Cheap Souvenirs, in late 2013.

The band spent two years living on the road in support of Cheap Souvenirs, playing club dates and festivals across the country, as well as opening Bronze Radio Return’s entire 2014 Summer tour. On the heels of all of that activity, Hey Monea elected to seclude themselves away in a cabin in Florida to write, record and self-produce their newest release, entitled “The Fifty.” The record is meant to serve as a hearty homage to the United States, as Daniel Monea offers “not only is the American landscape the backdrop for our lives, it’s the inspiration as well. With every new city comes different food, different culture, different nature, and most importantly different people who live entirely unique lives.” Nate Monea adds “it’s our privilege as a band, being able to travel and see new and diverse parts of the country. We try to use that inspiration, and this new album reflects that.”

Hey Monea doesn’t consider themselves patriots in a traditional sense – as Daniel puts it, “We love America for the greasy spoons, farmers daughters, and fishing holes. For the people we meet along the way and for the freedom we all enjoy…”

“The Fifty” was released on October 23 on independent imprint Noble Steed Music, and the band is currently on tour with all of the enthusiasm reflected on this new, youthful batch of recordings.

Born in Mississippi and raised in Memphis, Tennessee, Linsey Alexander discovered a down to earth city that truly understands and appreciates music on Chicago’s southside. In much the same way as many great blues artists before him, he grew up in a poor but honest and hard working family, learning early on that music has the power to lift the spirit and comfort the soul. In Linsey’s own words, “Blues is not hard- it’s just a documentary about life.” His first guitar – a gift from a family friend who played on the front stoop of Linsey’s home in Memphis – was never retrieved from the pawn shop where he left it almost 50 years ago. Using the money to help pay his way to Chicago, he now plays a variety of Gibson and Fender guitars. Since 1959, Linsey Alexander has been perfecting the art of entertainment blues for the sheer and simple pleasure of it. His easy smile and unpretentious personality define a charismatic entertainer who loves to perform; and perform he does!

Although having played with B.B.King, Bobby Rush, Buddy Guy, Little Milton, Magic Slim, Johnnie Taylor, A.C.Reed, Larry McCray, Bither Smith, John Primer, Otis Clay, Eddie Clearwater, and other great blues performers, Linsey Alexander has remained resolutely true to his own style.

Bassel & The Supernaturals is an eclectic ensemble based in Chicago, IL led by the soulful vocals of Syrian-American songwriter Bassel Almadani. Their music combines soul, jazz, and funk with captivating lyrics about love, loss, corporate life, and a war in Syria that has directly affected Bassel’s family along with over 10,000,000 others. In addition to their invigorating live performances across the country, Bassel offers humanitarian seminars in regards to Syria and current issues facing Arabs & Muslims in the US.

“Bassel Al-Madani doesn’t want audiences to just have a good time getting down at shows. He wants fans to leave Bassel & the Supernaturals shows with a sense of connection and, perhaps, new political awareness. The bandleader of the contemplative indie-funk ensemble is first-generation Syrian-American and has been using the band’s shows and releases to benefit humanitarian efforts in war-torn Syria.”
